What is Readers Rally? |
Readers Rally is a reading quiz bowl competition for students in grades four through twelve. Students read books from a predetermined list and train with buzzers throughout the year with their team. In the spring, students answer questions about those books at a county-wide competition. Each Gwinnett County school may send one team of ten players or less to the Readers Rally event.
|
Our visionThe purpose of the club is to prepare students who have a passion for reading, competition, and teamwork to compete in the annual Gwinnett County Readers Rally.
The team will read the 20 books nominated for the Georgia Peach Award. Individual members are expected to read at least 4 of the novels. During meetings, team members will quiz themselves and each other on information from the novels. Members will also practice increasing their speed using the buzzer set when answering questions. If the team is comprised of more than 10 players, members will compete against each other for the 10 slots to represent the school in the county-wide competition. |
